Acceptable ID Types for Nebraska
Beginning on the May 14, 2024 primary election, all Nebraska voters will be required to show voter ID when voting. Your photo ID must include your photo and name.
- Nebraska driver's license/state ID
- Passport, military ID, tribal ID
- Hospital, assisted-living facility or nursing home record
- Nebraska political subdivision ID (state, county, city, school, etc.)
- Nebraska college or university ID
Any valid photo ID used to vote may be unexpired.

What happens when you go to vote without an ID
You can vote using a provisional ballot. For your ballot to count, you will need to present a valid photo ID to your county election office on or before the Tuesday after Election Day.
