The election will be here before you know it– and the country needs your help to make sure everyone who chooses to vote in person on Election Day can do so safely. There is a shortage of poll workers due to the coronavirus. Most poll workers are over the age of 60 and in the era of COVID-19, many might be worried about their health and safety this November. Fewer poll workers have been signing up to work, which means polling locations are at risk of closing and wait times to vote will get longer.
HeadCount is working with Power the Polls to address this need for healthy and diverse poll workers who can staff in-person voting locations during early voting and on Election Day.
If you sign up to be a poll worker, that means:
- Those at are more at risk of getting sick can focus on their health
- You’re helping prevent staffing shortages
- You’re ensuring that election day procedures are efficient
- You’re helping communicate with voters and navigate issues.
