Acceptable ID Types for New Hampshire
New Hampshire voters need to show Photo ID at the polls. Valid forms of identification include;
- Driver's license from any state or federal government
- Non-driver ID card, from any state
- US Military ID
- US Passport
- Student ID, issued by accredited and approved institutions in New Hampshire (if from postsecondary school, date of issuance is required)
- A "voting ID card" issued by the state of New Hampshire
- Any other photo ID may be used, so long as it is determined to be legitimate by your election moderator or town or city clerk
Your photo ID must be unexpired or have expired no more than 5 years from Election Day.
What happens when you go to vote without an ID
You may cast a regular ballot without an ID upon completing a "challenged voter affidavit" and having your photo taken at the polls.
OR
You may cast a regular ballot without providing ID if the municipal moderator, supervisor of the checklist, or clerk verifies your identity.
