Acceptable ID Types for Florida

Florida voters are required to show ID at the polls. Florida accepts unexpired identifications with photo and signature. If your photo ID does not contain a signature, you will be asked to provide an additional identification that includes a signature. Valid forms of identification include;

  • Florida driver's license
  • Florida ID
  • U.S. passport
  • A debit or credit card
  • Military ID
  • Student ID, each county determines validity if there is no listed expiration date
  • Retirement center ID
  • Neighborhood association ID
  • Veteran health ID
  • Public assistance ID
  • License to carry a concealed weapon
  • Employee Identification Card

 

What happens when you go to vote without an ID

You can vote using a provisional ballot. Your provisional ballot will count if the signature on the provisional ballot envelope matches the signature on your voter registration application. You also have the right to present written evidence supporting your right to vote no later than 5pm on the second day after the election.
