We are excited to announce that Participation Row, presented by Qello Concerts, will be back at Lockn’ for the third year in a row. We’re bringing the signed LEGENDARY LOCKN’ guitars as well! We’ll organize 22 non-profit organizations into an interactive village, and once again we’ll be chillin’ in the Qello Lounge, checking out the largest collection of full-length concerts and rock documentaries streaming on-demand.
Participation Row is all about making it fun to take socially-conscious actions while at a festival. At Lockn’ the fun comes in the form of two LEGENDARY LOCKN' guitars, signed by the festival headliners. One guitar is auctioned to support all the charities involved. The other guitar is given away in a FREE raffle. To enter the raffle you just have to visit four non-profit tents and take an action at each. For every action you get a stamp, and once you have 4 stamps, you come by the Qello Lounge to enter the free drawing. You also get a free one-month subscription to Qello.
The LEGENDARY LOCKN’ guitars this year are custom models provided by D’Angelcio, the same folks who made the Fare Thee Well custom guitar played by Bob Weir at the Grateful Dead anniversary shows. That guitar sold in auction for $526,000! The Lockn’ guitars will have custom Lockn’ graphics, and signatures from the Lockn’ headliners.
Imagine one guitar with sigs from Robert Plant, Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Leon Russell, Widespread Panic, Hot Tuna and maybe even Santana, all on one guitar!
In previous years, the auctions generated about $50,000! This year, it’s anyone’s guess.
We’ll also raffle off Grain Audio ear-buds (SRP: $99), a year’s subscription to Qello with an Apple TV, Super VIP Lockn’ tickets for 2016, and of course the signed LEGENDARY LOCKN’ Guitars.
It all goes down in the Qello Concerts Lounge, where you can relax and check out the world's largest collection of full-length concerts and music documentaries streamed on-demand. Qello Concerts is like Netflix, but for concerts! Their live performance catalog spans the decades and all musical genres. There are performances from Lockn' favorites including, Widespread Panic, Tom Petty, The Grateful Dead, String Cheese Incident, Gov't Mule, and much more.
We’ve also got some new charities to welcome to Participation Row this year: LOVE HOPE STRENGTH, the Lynchburg Humane Society, Moms Clean Air Force, NORML, and the Thomas Jefferson Center for Free Expression.
There’ll also be some returning national organizations like Conscious Alliance, DanceSafe, Habitat for Humanity, Recycle Life Org, and of course there’ll be a HeadCount booth registering voters as well.
And there will be plenty of groups from Virginia or the surrounding states: Appalachian Voices, the Blue Ridge Medical Center, FeedRVA, Light House Studio, Nelson County Tourism, the North Branch School, the Park School, the Rockfish Valley Foundation, United Plant Savers, and Wild Virginia.
Hope to see you there! Check out www.LocknFestival.com for ticket info.
